Holiday cover

I will visit you before your holiday to go through everything you want doing for you animals. This way we get to meet each other, I get to meet your horses and you get to see me with them. Why not also take the opportunity to pay me as well, at least that is one thing you won’t have to worry about before your travels. Holiday cover includes, mucking out, haynets, feeds, turning out, bringing in and grooming. I will also exercise your horse for you at extra cost. I will be there in case of any vet call outs, or even if you horse is under the vet already. If you horse needs shoeing, then I will arrange that as well.

Show Prep

I will visit you on the day, or if really early, the night before and plait your horse up for you. Can do both mane and tail, banded or stitched. I can do flat and ridge plaits. However I prefer ridge plaits as I feel they go in and stay in place a lot easier. If you would like the horse groomed I can do that as well. I can also clean your tack for you if you wish.

Competition groom

If you have more than 2 horses or even just the one which you are competing for the day, I can accompany you. I will do all show preparation before hand, and when at the show, will deal with your horse so that you don’t have to. Can also drive you lorry for you, however, it is your responsibility to make sure I am on your insurance.

Clipping

Will do any clip on your horse. Have battery powered Lister clippers, which are light, quiet and don’t over heat. I am also very good with horses who are nervous or have never been clipped before. I use a approach and retreat method. I do not rush them, I will take as long as it takes to build up their confidence in me and the clippers. If it takes 1 day or 1 month, I am happy to carry on as long as you are.

Starting, breaking and general exercise

I am available to do any of this, although I do ask that there be at least one adult on the yard at the time of starting/breaking. Just to give me a hand with getting on for the first time. I also use the Richard Maxwell method of starting your horse.

Other Animals

I am also available to look after any other animals you have, dogs, cats, chickens etc. I hope to be able to accommodate some customers dogs at home with me in the near future. Please ring me if you are interested in this service.
